Head Instructor & Gym Owner

An IBJJF-certified 2nd-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and a Muay Thai Kru certified by the government of Thailand — the only person to have medalled at the World Championships in both striking and grappling.

  • 2nd-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt
  • The only person to have medalled at the World Championships in both striking (Spain, 2006) and grappling (California, 2016)
  • Flown around the world to represent Team Canada in both skills
  • MMA fighter since 2000, competing internationally as a striker across Thailand, Abu Dhabi, Africa, the Philippines, Dubai, China, Mexico, Ireland, Europe, the USA and Canada
  • Certified Kru by the Thai government, under Master Toddy in Thailand
  • Bronze for Team Canada at the kickboxing World Championships in Spain — ranked 3rd in the world at his weight, and an Iowa State Champion
  • Abu Dhabi World Pro's #1 Canadian Masters black belt, 2018–2022
  • Ten years working security, four to five nights a week — the self-defence credential behind how we teach de-escalation before anything else
  • Started teaching in Georgina in 2008; opened Rumble's own doors in January 2012, four and a half months after the funeral of his trainer and friend Shawn Tompkins
